A favorite picture...

Since this is generally a pretty slow time of year for me and I would like to keep this blog updated with fresh posts, I thought I'd try posting a picture every few days that maybe didn't make it into the original slideshow.

Here's three of my favorites. At first, these pictures didn't stand out to me as outstanding, but the more I look at them and their quiet, simple, elegance, the more I like them!

These are from Michele and Jason's wedding at Justin Trails in Sparta. It was such a simple, family-oriented wedding that had so many amazing details, it was easily one of my favorite weddings to photograph last year. Michele and Jason made a commitment to be as "green" as possible with their wedding planning, and that just added to the fun and pleasant atmosphere. She got ready in an old chicken coop that had been remodeled into a room perfect for getting ready, and she even had her mother's wedding dress in the room with her! Isn't she beautiful?

Best of 2008

Now that weddings have slowed down for a few months, I had a chance to go through ALL the pictures from 2008, and compile a few of my favorites in a super-cool remixed video. Thank you to the 30+ couples who allowed me to share their day!

Bridal Expo 2009

Hello Everyone,

It feels like it's been forever since I last posted about Nicole and Johannes' wedding in the Dells. Between our two Christmases with my family and my husband's family, plus our trip to Arkansas, we've been busy. It's good to be back in the swing of things again!

Yesterday was the Bridal Expo in La Crosse, and to those of you who I met for the first time, thanks for stopping by my booth! It's my second year exhibiting there (last year I was under my old business name of Images Of Distinction), and it was even better than last year!

And I would like to point out two things:

1) Yes, the couple was REALLY in the water. I posted an image from a Trash The Dress session I did with Angela and Ben last year. We ended our session by going into Devil's Lake. Yes, it was cold. Yes, we were really in the water. :) That wasn't just post processing- it was real!

2) Yes, that was actually a bride wearing a red dress. I had a lot of questions about that picture, too. The bride, Heather, was wearing Maggie Sottero's "Scarlet" dress. I'll admit that I had doubts when Heather told me her dress was going to be red. But as soon as I saw the dress, and more especially her IN the dress, I knew she made a stunning choice. Wow- that red really made the pictures pop!

Be sure to stay tuned for my "Best Of" 2008 video coming soon!
